Friday January 21, 2022 Morning Class Pick One

Learn to make project boards. These are great for laying out your quilt blocks and taking them to your sewing machine. I also love them for organizing my embroidery and cross stich threads for projects I?m working on. Your kit will include the foam core board and batting. The foam core is 20? x 30? and will make several boards, depending on what sizes you decide to do. Glue guns, glue and cutting tools will be provided. All you need to bring is your favorite two and a half inch strips for the edging. I have even made some of these with scrap bindings I have left from quilts. Just sew them together like you would for binding. It makes a fun ?scrappy? project board! Cost for the kit is $4.00.

One of my favorite things to do is make something good and useful out of scraps ! This quilt is a great stash buster. It starts with a pentagon shaped template and just keeps growing until you have enough fabric to cut a 10 inch block! Can be made any size and works just as well with a white center and sashing as it does with black The template will cost $3.00.

Class Title: Vintage Charm Class Length- 1/2 day prep 1/2 day sew Kit Fee: $25 Kit Fee Includes: 6 Panels of Easy Piecing Grid, Quilt Pattern, Step by Step Instructions Class Description: Piece this Vintage Quilt with NO strip piecing! Amazing 2" Finished Squares. Quilt measures 54' x 56" before borders. Enjoy perfect corners and stable, flat blocks every time .Use Easy Piecing Grid Level: Beginner Sewing Machine Feet: 1/4" piecing foot (NO Guide) Fabric Supplies: 1/2 yard of eight different fabrics or scraps to equal, Black for Chain: 1/2 yard. Pre-Cutting Tips for Vintage Charm: The quilt picture shows six colors plus a chain color (black in my sample). If one color is over-used, you may run out before your quilt is done. In addition to the six fabrics, I suggest adding a few more colors for your blocks-- using fat quarters or scraps. Or have a little extra yardage of your six colors. It would help you to pre-cut 2.5" squares-- I'd say 50-80 squares of each color to get you started, and 100 chain squares.
